Orlando City News

Here's some quick news going on around the team today:

- Joao Moutinho suffered a "grade 2 calf injury" last time out against FC Cincinnati.

- Cristian Higuita trained off to the side

- Carlos Ascues will be available for selection against Chicago before he heads off to Peru National Team duty.

- When asked about what he wished the team would have worked on more in pre-season, JOC stated that he wanted us to be even harder to play against, work on chance creation, and execution when we do create the chances (A.K.A. finishing the chances).

Joao's newest injury, although it is another muscle injury, is not a re-injury of the hamstring he had. This is worrying because it shows that he is an injury-prone player. It doesn't help that he was forced straight back into the lineup when he didn't need to, but it is worrying that he instantly went down with a muscle injury. He will need to strengthen that area of his body over the offseason.

Although Ascues was discussed, Johnson and Miller weren't so there isn't a clear answer on if they will be available or not.

I agree with JOC on the last point. Although we have been harder to play against this season compared to last, it is not that big of an achievement to be better than last season. We do need to be even harder to play against next season, and we NEED to work on our finishing as well. Getting "our own Josef Martinez" will help too.
