Daily Update: 12/24/2019
Christmas is almost here (for those celebrating) but the Orlando City news roles on. Just a few things to talk about today, so let's get this over with so I can eat some cheesecake :)
Jhegson Mendez (@EstebanPazR)
On the back of yesterday's rumor that Liga de Quito was after our Ecuadorian midfielder, a new report has surfaced that Orlando City turned down a $7 million bid from an unnamed Ecuadorian team. The man who released the news just so happens to be the Director of Liga de Quito, so take this news with a grain of salt. It could just be an excuse for why the club was unable to get their man. The $7 million figure would have made the club a massive profit, albeit there probably would've been performance-based bonuses. Considering we took $4 million for Yoshi Yotun, I would assume we would have accepted this one. If this report is true, my only assumption would be that we want him for the upcoming season and will look to sell him for even more money should he improve on last season. I don't see him around at the start of the 2021 season as he would have WC qualifiers to deal with, so the end of this season will probably be his last.
Mauricio Pereyra (@FCKrasnodar)
FC Krasnodar (Pereyra's old club) announced today that Pereyra won the award for the best player in FC Krasnodar's history. That must be a huge honor for a team that has had a relatively successful time in the Russian Premier League. A massive congratulations must go to our number 33 and we can't wait to see what he can do once he's fully fit next season.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday tomorrow.
