Daily Update: 12/23/2019

Yesterday, when I said “expect news tomorrow,” I certainly wasn’t expecting this. Let’s get straight into it.

Rodrigo Schlegel

Orlando City announced the signing of the 22 year old CB from Racing Club today. He joins on a FREE loan with an option to buy. That option is for $600k. Although he doesn’t have a lot of first team experience, our scouting department have certainly seen something that they like from him. At 5’11 he would seemingly be a more mobile option than our previous CB‘s in Sane and O’Neill. I don’t think he will start but I do think he will provide more competition for the starting spot than we had last season. There is every possibility we bring in Antonio Carlos and have those 2 CB’s battle for the spot next to Jansson.

Jhegson Mendez

There is a report that Ecuadorian team Liga de Quito want to replace one of their midfielders with Mendez. I doubt any of this is true but if it is, I would only see it being done if we make a massive profit from what we paid last season. If he were to leave, I believe Urso would be his replacement in the starting Xl. I really hope it isn’t true and that Urso is coming in next to Mendez for next season. Keep your eye on this situation.
