Daily Update: 1/8/2020

Only a couple of non-Orlando City related topics today to touch on.

Jersey Release (@OrlandoCitySC)

It was revealed today that our new away jersey (along with everyone in the league) will be announced on February 5th. All the "leaks" of other team's jerseys have looked awful so I'm not expecting anything amazing from Adidas. I hate the shoulder 3 stripe look and I hope they don't mess it up too bad.

DP Update (@samstejskal)

According to The Athletic writer Sam Stejskal, MLS is considering changing the DP rule by limiting the number of DPs over the age of 23 to just 2 and forcing the MLS clubs to use that 3rd slot on a Young DP (under the age of 23). For me, this is a step in the opposite direction of what should be happening and I can only hope MLS clubs get more autonomy in the future. I understand that the clubs will need more money before they agree to that proposal and I also understand that the league will need time to grow but I am already not a fan of the DP rule and this just adds to its frustration. I hope this only turns out to be a consideration and never a new rule.

The MLS Superdraft is tomorrow at 12:30 PM EST. It will be streamed live on Twitter. Orlando City has 4 picks tomorrow (1 first round and 3 second round). Make sure you tune in to see who we get.
