Daily Update: 1/18/2020

A slow day transfer-wise but we got still got some important news today.

Preseason Schedule Announced (@OrlandoCitySC)

Orlando City finally announced its full preseason schedule. As we all know, training camp starts on Monday. Then the key dates go as such:

Jan 25th - Orlando vs. Stetson University in a closed-door friendly

Jan 27th - Orlando depart for camp in Cancun, Mexico

Feb 1st - Orlando vs. Columbus Crew in Mexico at 11 AM EST

Feb 4th - Orlando vs. Inter Playa in Mexico at 9 AM EST

Feb 8th - Orlando vs. Montreal Impact in Exploria Stadium at 6 PM EST

Feb 12th - Orlando vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies in a closed-door friendly at Exploria Stadium

Feb 15th - Orlando vs. DC United at USF.

Feb 18th - Orlando vs. KR Reykjavik at Exploria Stadium at 6 PM EST

Feb 21st - Orlando vs. San Antonio FC at Exploria Stadium in a closed-door friendly

I love this preseason schedule. We play A LOT of teams in a short amount of time. This will get us ready for the season ahead. One very underrated aspect is the trip to Cancun. It will be hot and humid down there, which will prepare the new guys for the grueling summer games.

Oscar Pareja is well known for his teams' fast start in the MLS and I believe that this run of preseason fixtures will prepare us to have his signature start to the season. The problem will be maintaining that throughout the season.
